Top Stop Snoring Questions

Snoring is the vibration of respiratory structures and the resulting sound, due to obstructed air movement during breathing while sleeping. In some cases the sound may be soft, in others loud and unpleasant. The structures are usually the uvula and soft palate.

Yes, people snore for many different reasons. The jaw drops open at night, small or collapsing nostrils can prevent you from successfully breathing through your nose, the air hitting the back of the throat causes it to dry causing the snoring vibrations. A mouthpiece helps 85% of people who snore but if you have a nose based problem, nasal strips or cones might be the answer.

Everyone will snore at some stage of their life. One out of five women snore especially if they are overweight or reaching menopause. SnoreMeds has developed a mouthpiece designed for women, it is slightly smaller, has a deeper bite and is more comfortable than the original which a few years ago was the only option for women.

What is SnoreMeds Anti Snoring Mouthpiece?

You have an 85% chance that the anti-snoring mouthpiece will work for you. If you find that after the first night that you still snore then re-mould the mouthpiece with your jaw slightly more forward. It should stop you from snoring from the first night.

The SnoreMeds™ anti-snoring mouthpiece has a manufactured life span per mouthpiece of 1 year, however we highly recommend that you change the mouthpiece every 3-4 months for the hygiene and safety of your teeth and gums.. This does differ from person to person (a bit like a toothbrush) it depends on the pressure placed on the appliance in holding the bottom jaw forward.

Mandibular devices, with or without holes, are extremely effective - however, research has proven that many people using mouthpieces without the holes experience claustrophobia whilst wearing them. This is evident especially in snorers suffering from sinus problems or a diverted septum. The SnoreMeds™ stop snoring mouthpiece has therefore been designed with holes to make it easier to swallow during the night, as it prevents any build-up of excess saliva, as well as enabling emergency breathing (through the mouth) if the nasal passages are blocked.

Safety questions

Unfortunately, we do not advise you to use a mouthpiece at night. Most doctors recommend that you have healthy gums and teeth before ordering a mouthpiece.

The jaw and teeth of children are still in the development stage so a mouthpiece should not be used for children.

No, SnoreMeds is manufactured using FDA approved material for oral application. The mouthpiece is BPA and latex free.

Wearing an anti-snoring mouthpiece is a lot like wearing a gum guard before going out onto the sports field. Like anything, it takes a short while to get used to and at first it may feel a little weird to wear it. You may experience  jaw / cheek muscle discomfort purely for the reason that you are moving your jaw into a new position and making the muscles adapt and work! Just think of it as taking your jaw to gym and working your muscles in a different way. The initial minor discomfort is short-lived and well worth it! After a week or two of use you will be so used to the feeling of sleeping with the mouthpiece that you won’t even know it’s there. You will be focusing more on the fact of how refreshed and energetic you feel throughout an entire day and how well you are sleeping at night.

Stop Snoring Solutions for Men and Women

SnoreMeds™ sells different quantities in each pack. Single pack, Double pack and Value pack. The value pack should last a regular user a year, if molded correctly. We suggest that first time buyers purchase the SnoreMeds Double pack, so if they do not get the molding process correct the first time they have a second stop snoring mouthpiece to use.

The team at SnoreMeds™ have recognized the fact that not everyone has the same sized mouth! SnoreMeds™ therefore comes in TWO sizes - Both mouthpieces are then further customized during the moulding process whereby the mouthpiece is softened by the boiled water so that the mouthpiece is fitted to the exact shape of your mouth. The smaller mouthpiece’s bite depth at the back of the mouthpiece is, however, deeper which in turn equals the pressure over a wider area. The original mouthpiece is designed for men and the small fit designed for women who snore.

Against popular belief, research has found that nearly everyone snores occasionally - including women! About 24% of adult women are habitual snorers and snoring tends to become even more common as women age or while they are pregnant. Snoring tends to be more accepted as a problem amongst men as women are seen to be the epitome of femininity and style - but snoring certainly doesn’t stop affecting certain sufferers due to these factors!

The SnoreMeds™ Anti Snoring Mouthpiece is available in the Original Fit for Men and the Small Fit for Women. The reason for the difference is the jaw size, women have a smaller jaw and our mouthpiece has been uniquely designed to fit the smaller jaw and offer the ultimate comfort at night.

Caring for the Mouthpiece

On average you will need to replace your SnoreMeds™ snoring mouthpiece every four months. This is because the material needs to be soft enough to be comfortable. Over time, this softness causes the mouthpiece to stretch, moving the jaw backwards in position. If the material was too firm, you would experience discomfort in the teeth and jaw.

Your snoring mouthpiece can only be moulded twice – so be sure to take extra time and care to follow the provided instructions carefully. Be sure to practice your forward position that will aid in stopping the snoring.

Moulding the mouthpiece for the first time can be tricky. We suggest first time users order the double pack so they have an extra mouthpiece. Preparation is everything so make sure you practice in front of a mirror. Once you have the knack of how the the ant-snoring mouthpiece is meant to feel and look then it is easy to mould in the future.

Use the spatula supplied to hold the mouthpiece and use a toothbrush with tooth paste to clean it or place the mouthpiece in a container and drop in a Polident tablet. A mouthwash would also be adequate to keep the mouthpiece clean.

The mouthpiece is normally very well tolerated. There are minor and temporary side effects and this refers mainly to hyper-salivation and morning discomfort.

It takes about two weeks to get used to wearing the stop snoring mouthpiece, so it is natural that when you relax you will allow the mouthpiece to fall out. As long as you have stopped snoring the mouthpiece is fitted correctly, and naturally long term you will get used to sleeping with the snoring device.

Really works!

The product works as advertised. My husband is very happy! Took me a day or two to get used to the feel of it but now I hardly notice. Might take someone longer if they have not used a bite guard in the past. The molding process was super easy and worked great.

Better sleep

I find the mild jaw correction to be enough to stop my snoring. I have tried others and found them too large or insecure. This version is secure and comfortable. The first week my teeth felt sore, but that seems to be improving. I am sleeping better because I am breathing better.

Extremely satisfied!

I have been using my Snore Meds for a full week now! The most challenging part was the fitting! It is the most comfortable mouth piece I’ve ever tried, it fits beautifuly. I love the soft & flexible feel but the most important thing is my wife says it eliminates my snoring by 95%! I definitely recomend this product!
